I so need to post on Mia's birthday, but thought I'd do a quick post to celebrate Independence Day. We can't believe we have a laughing, squealing little one year old dressed in red, white and blue to celebrate Independence Day this year. Last year this time, we were still in the hospital, Mia was still in the NICU and we were wondering if Mia was ever going to be released to go home! She was four days old and would spend one more day in the NICU and two more days in the hospital in our room for monitoring before we would be able to take her home. Zeus and I were able to catch a few various far away fire works shows out the window at the end of the hall of the Maternity Ward at the Hospital. This year, fireworks are banned for the first time in ~32 years because of the drought here in Texas. So crazy how much has changed in one year!
What a difference a year makes! Happy Independence Day!!!
My busy little Yankee Doodle Mia in her patriotic outfit - hard to see, but the bottom part has little white stars on it. :)
A huge thank you to all members of the military - past, present and future - for their great sacrifices of self and family to support the freedoms that my family and I enjoy every day.
