Mia had a good day today. She was happy and alert and smiley at everyone who was here at the house including cousins Freddy and Chayo, as well as Tia Lupe and Tia Bertha. She ate well most of the day until the later afternoon feeding when she dropped from 6 ounces to 2 1/2 ounces. I think her little mouth had gotten sore from all the smiling and from eating more regularly so I ended up giving her a dose of children's acetaminophen which seemed to help. We've also been religious about keeping her upright at much as possible to help keep the swelling down and I think it's really helped a lot. Her little cheeks still look like she's part chipmunk, but overall the swelling seems minimal to what I was expecting and have seen on other kiddos.
Mia's little chipmunk cheeks. The bruising is starting to show more, but looking pretty good over all.
Her play gym was a godsend - she could reach the things and move around but still keep the surgery site safe, even with the arm restraints on.
Mia still has a little one sided smile. In the picture, the right side shows the crinkle under her eye and the curve up on that side of her lip. The other side (with the back"er" eye) is still too swollen.
I LOVE my little family so very much!
Family snuggles and coos before tucking her in for the night.
Yup, made it through day three!
